Southwestern is 9-1 against Pulaski County since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Southwestern Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pulaski County Maroons at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kentucky (Southwestern is ranked 33rd, while Pulaski County is ranked 21st).
Southwestern has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell to Wayne County 57-53.
Payton Acey put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 19 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Megan Loudermilk, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Pulaski County can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Rockcastle County as Pulaski County made off with a 78-54 victory. The victory was familiar territory for Pulaski County who now have five in a row.
Southwestern's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Pulaski County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Southwestern was able to grind out a solid win over Pulaski County when the teams last played back in January, winning 66-58. Does Southwestern have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pulaski County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
