The Oak Knoll Royals will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Union Catholic Vikings at 4:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Wednesday, Oak Knoll came up short against Scotch Plains-Fanwood and fell 50-41. While losing is never fun, Oak Knoll can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Scotch Plains-Fanwood is ranked 88th).
Meanwhile, Union Catholic suffered their closest defeat since January 18th on Wednesday. They fell just short of Elizabeth by a score of 55-52. Union Catholic has not had much luck with Elizabeth recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Oak Knoll's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Union Catholic, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-12.
Oak Knoll didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Union Catholic in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 55-49 victory. Does Oak Knoll have another victory up their sleeve, or will Union Catholic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
