The Springfield Southeast Spartans suffered their biggest defeat since December 9, 2023 on Saturday. They were beaten by Quincy 68-29. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Springfield Southeast has scored all season.
Marisa Gant and Rakiyah Coleman certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Gant scored seven points along with two steals, while Coleman scored seven points along with seven rebounds. Gant hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games.
Springfield Southeast's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-12. As for Quincy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springfield Southeast will take on Lanphier at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Lanphier has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Quincy, they will head out on the road to take on Geneseo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Geneseo is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
