Clarksburg scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They walked away with a 66-59 victory over Northwest. The win was some much needed relief for Clarksburg as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, Seneca Valley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 68-62 to Gaithersburg. Seneca Valley has struggled against Gaithersburg recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Seneca Valley's defeat came about despite a quality game from Jaysen Moise, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds and four steals. It was the first time this season that Moise grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Korey Trone, who scored 13 points.
Clarksburg's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-16. As for Seneca Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.
Clarksburg was able to grind out a solid win over Seneca Valley in their previous meeting back in January, winning 60-51. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Moise, who scored 22 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Clarksburg still be able to contain Moise?
