London Dyson was the offensive standout of the contest as she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 18 boards.
Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Booker T. Washington only posted four assists.
Meanwhile, Sheffield took a blow against Power Center Academy on Thursday, falling 59-10. The game marked Sheffield's lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Despite the defeat, Sheffield saw an underclassman step up: freshman Chloe Robinson posted eight points in addition to 12 boards and four steals. Those 12 boards set a new season-high mark for Robinson.
Sheffield dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 31.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Sheffield struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
