The Calhoun Academy Cavaliers will face off against the Carolina Academy Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Carolina Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Calhoun Academy, who comes in off a win.
Calhoun Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped last Friday as they easily beat Orangeburg Prep 51-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Cavaliers have posted against the Indians since October 30, 2015.

Colt Layton had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 225 yards and six TDs while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 15 rushing touchdowns on the season.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Calhoun Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 311 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 221 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Calhoun Academy's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from C-Rob Thornton: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Carolina Academy's offense. They took a blow against Williamsburg Academy on Friday, falling 33-0. The Bobcats have struggled against the Stallions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Calhoun Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.3 points on average over those games. As for Carolina Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
