The Surprise Valley Hornets's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 43-33 win over Big Valley. This was payback for Surprise Valley, who suffered a 44-34 loss the last time these two teams met.
Casey Grove was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Surprise Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Eichstadt, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Surprise Valley's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7. As for Big Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Surprise Valley will square off against Butte Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Big Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Bethel Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
