After a string of four wins, the South Pasadena Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 65-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of La Canada. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points South Pasadena has scored all season.
South Pasadena lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Russell Williams, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. The game was Williams' ninth in a row with at least ten points. Derek Peterson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five assists.
South Pasadena's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for La Canada, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.
South Pasadena will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Jordan on December 26th. As for La Canada, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Francis presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than La Canada in California (St. Francis is ranked 44th, while La Canada is ranked 496th).
