Dover is 2-8 against Lamar since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Dover Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Lamar Warriors at 7:00 a.m. Dover is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
Dover pushed their score all the way to 55 two weeks ago, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Mayflower.
Meanwhile, Lamar waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They strolled past Perryville with points to spare, taking the game 62-46.
Lamar got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kendrick Carr out in front who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Miller, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Dover's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Lamar, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Dover suffered a grim 56-35 defeat to Lamar in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Dover avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
