Basketball Recap: Blair Drops Season-High Score on South Pasadena

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Blair). They took down the South Pasadena Tigers 95-80 on Friday. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 93-49 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blair to victory, but perhaps none more so than Timmy Anderson, who went 8 for 17 en route to 32 points and six assists. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which Anderson has scored at least a third of Blair's points. Another player making a difference was Jaleel Hunter, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 20 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Anderson wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Blair was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Oni Balogun, who went 8 for 14 en route to 19 points and five boards. What's more, Balogun also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Jack Madison was another key player, going 7 of 9 on his way to 18 points.

The win was the fourth in a row for Blair, bringing their record for this year to 10-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.0 points per game. As for South Pasadena, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-7.

Blair will challenge San Marino at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Blair is facing San Marino at the right time seeing as San Marino is stuck on a three-game losing streak. South Pasadena has already played their next match, a 90-56 victory against Aveson Global Leadership Academy on the 25th.
