In what's become a running theme this season, the Hope Academy Trojan Tigers gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They blew past East Ridge 70-46. Given Hope Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while East Ridge is ranked 640th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hope Academy was led to victory by Dwayne Foreman III and Willie Griggs. Foreman III scored 19 points along with nine assists and two steals, while Griggs dropped a double-double on 17 points and 19 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Griggs scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Zion Baako, who scored 12 points.
When it comes to explaining why East Ridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jordan Corman. Despite the final result, he scored seven points along with six assists and five rebounds. Corman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Vazquez, who scored 15 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Hope Academy and bumps their season record up to 18-9. As for East Ridge, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-20.
