The Walnut Ridge Scots were the 44-37 winner over the Eastmoor Academy Warriors when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Walnut Ridge received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 56-39 to Eastmoor Academy. Walnut Ridge has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Despite the loss, Walnut Ridge saw an underclassman step up: Quorion Small scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Small scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nariyah Roddy, who scored seven points.
Walnut Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Eastmoor Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-8.
Walnut Ridge and Briggs will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Eastmoor Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against West at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
