Union hasn't had much luck against East Hardy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Union Tigers just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the East Hardy Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Union is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season.
Union came into this matchup off a tough 27-point defeat on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Clay-Battelle by a score of 52-49 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered since February 23, 2024.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Braylon Ward, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Corbin Streets was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 14 boards.
Even though they lost, Union smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, East Hardy waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They claimed a resounding 84-40 win over the Huskies. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 46th in West Virginia, while the Huskies are ranked 241st in Maryland), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
East Hardy pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points over those games. As for Union, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
Union might still be hurting after the 55-32 defeat they got from East Hardy when the teams last played on February 4th. Will Union have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
