The Kenesaw Blue Devils lost against the Elm Creek Buffaloes back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Kenesaw took a 56-39 bruising from Elm Creek. Kenesaw has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Kenesaw still got an impressive performance from Blake Steer, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Elm Creek was led to victory by Kade Sindt and Quin Oberg. Sindt scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Oberg scored 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Oberg has scored at least a third of Elm Creek's points. Drew Harbur was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Kenesaw now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Elm Creek, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kenesaw will square off against Deshler at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Elm Creek won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Ravenna at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Ravenna is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
