Bethel Baptist Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Zahyir Davis and Ethan Pennachietti. Davis scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Pennachietti scored 19 points along with three steals. The match was Davis' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Stahl, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Naiem Scott-Allen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Liguori Academy, scoring 26 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Scott-Allen has scored at least 25% of Liguori Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Rydee Miller, who scored 15 points.
Bethel Baptist Academy's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1. As for Liguori Academy, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Bethel Baptist Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Liguori Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. As for Liguori Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against New Foundations at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
