There's no place like home for the Carolina International Comets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They came out on top against Langtree Charter by a score of 59-50 on Monday. Given Carolina International's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Langtree Charter is ranked 488th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carolina International to victory, but perhaps none more so than Landon Griffin, who scored 13 points along with 4 steals. The matchup was Griffin's third in a row with at least ten points. Michael Davis was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Carolina International pushed their record up to 3-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Langtree Charter, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Carolina International will be playing in front of their home fans against Charlotte Lab School at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Charlotte Lab School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Thursday. As for Langtree Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Bradford Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
