The Otis-Bison Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ellinwood. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Otis-Bison in their matchups with Ellinwood: they've now lost six in a row.
Ellinwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Julia Schlessiger led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schlessiger has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Stickney, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Otis-Bison has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Ellinwood, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
Otis-Bison will be playing at home against LaCrosse on Saturday. Ellinwood's road trip will continue as they head out to face Victoria at 4:00 p.m. on January 20th. Victoria is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
