The Davis Darts put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Layton 60-34. Davis has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.
Leading Davis to victory were T'Maea Eteuati and Kendra Kitchen. Eteuati scored nine points along with nine rebounds, while Kitchen scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Kate Richards, who scored five points along with two blocks.
Despite the loss, Layton still got an impressive performance from Oakley Homer, who scored 12 points. That was a full 35.3% of Layton's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Katlynn Spendlove, who scored six points.
Davis' win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0. As for Layton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Davis will take on Syracuse at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Syracuse is ranked eighth, while Davis is ranked third). As for Layton, they will be playing at home against Farmington at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
