Millburn has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Montclair Mounties at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
After soaring to ten runs the game before, Millburn was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Livingston. That's two games in a row now that Millburn has lost by exactly three runs.
Alex Faust was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Faust was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Faust wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Keigo Fujita, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases.
Meanwhile, while Montclair put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for West Milford. Montclair was the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over West Milford.
Millburn has fallen quite a ways from their 27-4 record last season and are now at 1-4. As for Montclair, they now have a winning record of 1-0-1.
