Basketball Recap: St. Vincent De Paul Academy Piles Up the Points Against Frontier STEM

There's no place like home for St. Vincent de Paul Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took their matchup on Monday with ease, bagging a 44-16 victory over Frontier STEM. The contest marked the Hawks' most dominant win of the season.

St. Vincent de Paul Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Thomas Stegall led the charge by going 7 for 15 on his way to 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Those 16 points gave Stegall a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Charles Greene, who posted seven points and 11 boards.

St. Vincent de Paul Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

St. Vincent de Paul Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Frontier STEM, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri the next time they take the court. Frontier STEM will host Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while St. Vincent de Paul Academy will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
