 Meanwhile, Lowell fought the good fight in their extra-innings  contest against Haverhill  on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hillies by a score of  13-12. The Red Raiders haven't had much luck with the Hillies recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
 Billerica Memorial is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lowell, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
 Billerica Memorial was able to grind out a solid  victory over Lowell in their previous meeting  back in May of 2024, winning  5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
