The Batavia Bulldogs will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Wilmington Hurricane at 7:15 p.m. Batavia has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 479 points over their last eight games.
Even though Clinton-Massie scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, Batavia still came out on top. Batavia managed a 60-55 win over Clinton-Massie.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Wilmington, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 70-53 loss to Goshen on Friday. While losing is never fun, Wilmington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 600th, while Goshen is ranked 81st).
Batavia pushed their record up to 12-8 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Wilmington, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.
Batavia skirted past Wilmington 55-52 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Does Batavia have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wilmington turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
