Softball Recap: Oasis Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Oasis Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. Everything went their way against the North Tahoe Lakers as they made off with a 17-2 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 18-0 win on Saturday.

Abigail Owings was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Hyde, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Oasis Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .652. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive matchups.

Oasis Academy now has a winning record of 7-6. As for North Tahoe, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Coming up, Oasis Academy will take on Sierra Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bighorns' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 14.4 runs per game this season. As for North Tahoe, they will venture away from home to take on Yerington at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lakers will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least ten runs in their last six contests.
