Basketball Game Preview: Shoals Christian Flame vs. Lexington Golden Bears

Shoals Christian is 0-5 against Lexington since December of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Shoals Christian Flame will head out to take on the Lexington Golden Bears at 5:30 p.m. Shoals Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.3 points per game this season.

Lexington will be up against a hot Shoals Christian team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Shoals Christian secured a 60-55 W over Athens Bible on Friday.

It was another big night for Sarah Davis (2025), who dropped a double-double on 41 points and 14 rebounds. Her evening made it 16 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mamie Bachofer, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 boards.

Shoals Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Lexington took a blow against Lauderdale County on Saturday, falling 80-30. While losing is never fun, the Golden Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Tigers are ranked eighth).

Shoals Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Lexington, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

Shoals Christian came up short against Lexington in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 61-49. Can Shoals Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
