After flying high against the Pace Patriots last Friday, the Navarre Raiders came back down to earth. Navarre fell 74-63 to Niceville on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (61), Navarre still had to take the loss.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trey Brauns, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Hobbs, who scored 15 points.
Niceville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anwar Conley, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Fred Libby was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Navarre has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Niceville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Navarre will take on Crestview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Niceville, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Rocky Bayou Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Rocky Bayou Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Niceville likes a good challenge.
