This season hasn't been kind to The Spring Creek Gators, who are still winless after their tenth game. They were beaten by Beddingfield 66-8 on Friday. Spring Creek was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-8.
Among those leading the charge was Craig Barnes, who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Desmond Wooten was another key contributor, rushing for 44 yards and two touchdowns.
Spring Creek's loss was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-1 Wayne Christian and 12-2 Princeton (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 56.9% over those games). As for Beddingfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Spring Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Beddingfield will be playing in front of their home fans against James Kenan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (James Kenan is ranked 190th, while Beddingfield is ranked 200th).
