The Barbers Hill Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Porter Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Barbers Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Porter likes a good challenge.
Barbers Hill can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 52-23 win over Port Arthur Memorial at home. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Barbers Hill had established a 28 point advantage.
Jadon Rodriguez went supernova for Barbers Hill, rushing for 202 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Rodriguez was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards. Brady Thompson was in the mix too, providing Barbers Hill with two touchdowns.
Porter fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 31-24 victory over Lee on Thursday.
Barbers Hill's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Porter, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Barbers Hill was able to grind out a solid win over Porter in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, winning 28-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for Barbers Hill since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
