After each having a week off, The Mount Vernon Mustangs and the Mount Pisgah Christian Patriots will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 4:00 p.m. on October 20th. Mount Vernon should still be riding high after a big victory, while Mount Pisgah Christian will be looking to get back into the win column.
Last Friday, Mount Vernon got the win against Mt. Zion by a conclusive 42-17. Given Mount Vernon's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 190th, while Mt. Zion is ranked 383rd), the result wasn't exactly an upset.
Sam Nazarian continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 204 yards and four touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Pajot, who picked up 50 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 31 points the game before, Mount Pisgah Christian were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were beaten by Christian Heritage 42-10. Mount Pisgah Christian was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Mount Vernon's victory on Friday bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Mount Pisgah Christian, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

It's a different story for Mount Pisgah Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 22.4 per game. How will Mount Pisgah Christian fare against such a dominant running game?
