Five of the top 10 football recruits from the Class of 2017 in Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, are on the defensive end, including the top three.
The No. 1 recruit is 6-foot-5, 315-pound
Episcopal (Bellaire) defensive tackle
Marvin Wilson, who led his Knights to a 9-2 record last year. He's ranked the No. 4 recruit overall in the country.
The No. 2 recruit is
South Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie) safety
Jeffrey Okudah, the eighth-best recruit overall in the country. The 6-2, 194-pounder has 33 college offers.
The top skill player is
Cy-Fair (Cypress) 6-5, 243-pound tight end
Brock Wright, who has already committed to Notre Dame. He's ranked No. 5 in the state.
