After two games on the road, Middletown is heading back home. They will take on the Coventry Oakers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Middletown's 19-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 73-52 walloping at the hands of South Kingstown on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Coventry unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 62-53 to Cranston West.
Despite the loss, Coventry got a solid performance out of Tyler Broady, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Logan Moore, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Middletown has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Coventry, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6.
Middletown beat the Oakers 69-60 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Will Middletown repeat their success, or do the Oakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
