This season hasn't been kind to the Belleville Mennonite Thunder, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They took a serious blow against North Schuylkill on Friday, falling 91-27. While losing is never fun, Belleville Mennonite can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 725th, while North Schuylkill is ranked 188th).
North Schuylkill was led to victory by Jack Keiter and Zane Zulkowski. Keiter scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Zulkowski scored 24 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Zulkowski's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Zachary Marcinowski was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Belleville Mennonite's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for North Schuylkill, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Belleville Mennonite will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Centre County Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for North Schuylkill, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lehighton at 7:00 p.m. Lehighton is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
