After four games on the road, Langley is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Yorktown Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Langley is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Yorktown in Virginia (Langley is ranked third, while Yorktown is ranked 282nd).
Langley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They breezed by Herndon on the road to the tune of 53-26. That looming 53-26 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Langley yet this season.
Langley found their leader in underclassman Maddie Shamloo, who scored 12 points along with six steals and five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Peyton Daley, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Yorktown's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 54-39 to Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology.
Langley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0. As for Yorktown, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
Langley took their win against Yorktown when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 51-27. Will Langley repeat their success, or does Yorktown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
