The Cass City Red Hawks put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Vassar at home to the tune of 67-36. Considering Cass City has won seven matches by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Despite the loss, Vassar still got an impressive performance from Austin Long, who scored 18 points. Long scored a full 50% of Vassar's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Brown, who scored four points.
Cass City's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for Vassar, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cass City will square off against Caro at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Caro will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 313th, while Cass City is ranked 68th). As for Vassar, they will head out on the road to face off against Unionville-Sebewaing at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
