The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Gunnison Valley in their matchups with Ben Lomond: they've now lost three in a row.
Gunnison Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Autumn Anderson, who scored two points along with nine rebounds and five blocks. That's the first time this season that Anderson posted two or more blocks. Linsi Hansen was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Ben Lomond had a senior duo take command as Ofa Arreguin scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and Jazzy Tinajero scored six points along with six assists and five rebounds. Arreguin has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Dory Jenson, who scored three points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Gunnison Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Ben Lomond, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Gunnison Valley will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Millard at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Millard is ranked 101st, while Gunnison Valley is ranked 97th). Ben Lomond will finish 2023 at home by hosting St. Joseph at 5:15 p.m. on December 28th. St. Joseph comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
