Greenbrier East was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 12th to 10th in Mountain State. Earlier in the week, the Spartans defeated Monroe 45-6.
Cabell Midland extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Hurricane, 31-13. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Knights.
Damarrie Lain was the best wideout in the league this week as Riverside defeated Nitro. Lain racked up three receptions for 74 yards. Marcus Reed helped Riverside's passing attack out by catching five balls for 57 yards.
Jake Martin put up the best numbers through the air as Ripley topped Ravenswood. He finished with a total of nine completions for 145 yards and two touchdowns. Martin's favorite target this week was Kade Harrison, who caught two passes for 73 yards.
Adam Lindamood was the most productive running back in Mountain State this week. He ran for 239 yards on 49 carries as Parkersburg beat the Wildcats. Teammate Aaron Roberts added to the ground attack by rushing for 30 yards.
Riverside's Trevor Rumberg and Reed have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Rumberg has thrown for 1672 yards this season, while Reed, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 45 catches for 880 yards. The Big Reds' Lindamood leads the league in rushing yards with 1441.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between George Washington and the Redskins. The Patriots comes into the matchup ranked third in the state, while Hurricane ranks 13th.
Greenbrier East took down the Mavericks 45-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
