Basketball Game Preview: West Florida Jaguars vs. Lighthouse Private Christian Academy Stingrays

The West Florida Jaguars will head out on the road to challenge the Lighthouse Private Christian Academy Stingrays at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Florida is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when West Florida took on Booker T. Washington on Tuesday. West Florida took a 60-44 bruising from Booker T. Washington. The Jaguars have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

West Florida might have lost, but man, Brayden Justice was a machine: he went 8 for 16 on his way to 25 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks. That's the most blocks Justice has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakobe Fairley, who posted eight points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Lighthouse Private Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to Marianna at home by a 47-33 margin. While losing is never fun, the Stingrays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 95th).

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for West Florida, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

West Florida beat Lighthouse Private Christian Academy 63-54 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lighthouse Private Christian Academy's Vitor Oliveira, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards.
