Even though the Pleasantville Greyhounds scored an imposing 59 points on Thursday, the Pilgrim Academy Pioneers still came out on top. Pilgrim Academy had just enough and edged Pleasantville out 61-59. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Pilgrim Academy.
Pilgrim Academy was led to victory by Mason Parmer and Ayden Miller. Parmer scored 19 points along with six rebounds, while Miller dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. The matchup was Parmer's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Luke McGonagle, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Pilgrim Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Pleasantville, they bumped their record down to 3-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Pilgrim Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Calvary Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 5th. As for Pleasantville, they will head out on the road to face off against Holy Spirit at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
