Island Trees have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Saturday. They will take on Oyster Bay/Jericho at 2:00 PM. Island Trees will be hoping to continue their now five-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
After a dominant victory in their matchup two weeks ago, Island Trees were humbled last Saturday. They took a hard 43-60 fall against West Hempstead. Island Trees got a solid performance out of junior Cameron Provenzano, who rushed for 142 yards and 3 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. Provenzano has now scored at least one touchdown in the past five games.
Meanwhile, Oyster Bay/Jericho might be getting used to good results now that the team has four wins in a row. They blew past Friends Academy 27-6. Oyster Bay/Jericho were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Oyster Bay/Jericho's win lifted them to 4-0 while Island Trees's defeat dropped them down to 1-5. We'll find out if Oyster Bay/Jericho can add another positive mark to their record or if Island Trees can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Oyster Bay/Jericho's step.
