A feisty cat fight will be fought as Eunice Cardinals  duke it out with  McCurdy Bobcats at 1:00  p.m.  on Friday. Eunice is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2  runs per game  this season.

 Cheyenne Blevins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned  (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. Those six  strikeouts set a new season-high mark for  her.

Meanwhile, McCurdy was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight  defeat. They were a single  run away from ending the streak, but they lost  an   11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of Hot Springs.
  Mariana Arambula and  Cassandra Martinez did some serious damage despite the final result:  Arambula  went 3-for-4 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and one  triple, while  Martinez  scored two  runs and  stole four bases while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Karina Archuleta, who  scored two  runs and  stole four bases while going 1-for-3.
 McCurdy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Eunice,  the  victory  got them back to even at 4-4.
 Friday's   game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Eunice hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .371. However, it's not like McCurdy struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .400. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
