Cupertino took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Fremont as Cupertino made off with a 14-6 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Pioneers considering their one-run performance the game before.

Jasmyne Llanos made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Llanos was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Shelby Apostolo was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dayoung Jung, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.
Cupertino was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .395. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Palo Alto scored first but ultimately less than Gunn in their contest on Monday. They fell just short of the Titans by a score of 8-6.
Kendall Butler and Kensie Pao stepped up to the plate in a big way. Butler scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Pao scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Pao is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Kaitlin Ye also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
The victory snapped Cupertino's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-5 record. As for Palo Alto, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cupertino hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Palo Alto struggles in that department as they've averaged .321. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cupertino took their win against Palo Alto in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cupertino since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
