The Norris Titans lost to the York Dukes back in January of 2023, but the Norris Titans didn't allow the York Dukes the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Norris strolled past York with points to spare, taking the game 48-30. Given Norris' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while York is ranked 115th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grayson Piening was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Johnson, who scored nine points.
Norris' win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for York, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.
Norris will be playing in front of their home fans against Bennington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. York will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Malcolm at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Malcolm is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
