Softball Recap: Franklin Wins Going Away Against Lansdowne

Franklin won the last time they faced Lansdowne and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Indians put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 17-5 victory. Considering the Indians have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Franklin got a massive performance out of Lanee Houser, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Maldonado, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Franklin and bumps their season record up to 5-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-7 Kenwood and 3-5 Lansdowne. As for Lansdowne, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Franklin is set to take on their familiar foe Parkville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lansdowne will challenge rival Kenwood at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
