The Westside Seminoles were the 80-50 winner over the Southwest Patriots when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Westside fell 55-48 to Southwest on Tuesday.
Joshua Harden and Jiquavious Marshall certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Harden dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Marshall scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds.
Southwest's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Bennett, who scored 8 points. Chase Dupree was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Westside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Southwest, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westside will square off against Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southwest, they will head out on the road to face off against Howard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
