Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ece Buyukkaan and Amaliah Harris Lead Berean Baptist Academy to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Trinity Christian, Berean Baptist Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Northwood Temple Academy Eagles as the Berean Baptist Academy Bulldogs made off with a 33-10 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Bulldogs have posted since January 5th.

Berean Baptist Academy was led to victory by Amaliah Harris and Ece Buyukkaan. Harris posted six points along with 15 rebounds and four steals, while Buyukkaan had six points and 22 rebounds. Harris is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Annabelle Fowler was another key player, going 5 of 11 on her way to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Despite the loss, Northwood Temple Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Abigail Poindexter posted five points and four steals.

The win got Berean Baptist Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Northwood Temple Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Berean Baptist Academy will head out to challenge Freedom Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Freedom Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season. As for Northwood Temple Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 52-18 victory against Thomas Academy on the 12th.
