The Calexico Bulldogs were the 42-16 winner over the Vincent Memorial Scots when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Calexico fell 14-7 to Vincent Memorial on Friday. Calexico has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sean Torres threw for 46 yards on two of six attempts. Franky Loera-Rodriquez was his top target, picking up 52 receiving yards. On the ground, Luis Angelo Alcala rushed for 65 yards.
Jacobo Elias was his usual excellent self, rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, while also throwing for 158 yards and a touchdown.
Calexico has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Vincent Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calexico will take on Escondido at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Escondido is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Vincent Memorial, they will be playing at home against Valhalla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
