On Friday, the Delmar Wildcats faced the Woodbridge Raiders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Delmar took a serious blow against Woodbridge, falling 34-6. Delmar was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Woodbridge apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.
Traci Johnson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 147 yards and three touchdowns. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last six times he's played.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Woodbridge's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Kam' ren Johnson was the leader with three sacks.
Delmar's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Woodbridge, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 8-2 record.
Delmar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Woodbridge will be playing at home against Laurel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Laurel is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
