The United South Panthers will be playing at home against the Eagle Pass Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
After soaring to 32 points the game before, United South were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost to Alexander on the road by a decisive 21-7 margin.
Meanwhile, Eagle Pass put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Laredo LBJ, posting a 48-6 win at home.
Andres Villarreal was his usual excellent self, rushing for 105 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 317 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Wilfredo Frausto, who picked up 116 receiving yards and a touchdown.
United South's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.0 points per game. As for Eagle Pass, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
United South didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Eagle Pass in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 34-28 win. Will United South repeat their success, or does Eagle Pass have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
