The Chaparral Firebirds will venture away from home to take on the Horizon Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Chaparral came out on top against Campo Verde on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Firebirds walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Coyotes. Seven seems to be a good number for the Firebirds as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Truman Parker looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Chaparral: the team is 7-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 7-8 otherwise.
At the plate, Gavin Mesa and Jake Catalfio did most of the damage at the plate: Mesa went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Catalfio went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Catalfio has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Halvorson, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Horizon had just enough and edged out Mountain Pointe 5-4 on Thursday.
Horizon's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Colten Figueroa, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Johnny Issitt, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Chaparral's record now sits at 14-9. As for Horizon, their record is now 15-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Chaparral hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Horizon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Chaparral's way against Horizon in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Chaparral made off with an 11-5 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Firebirds since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
