DuVal is 9-1 against High Point since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The DuVal Tigers will head out on the road to take on the High Point Eagles at 7:15 p.m. DuVal is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
DuVal scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 95-26 win over Northwestern. Given DuVal's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Northwestern is ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, sadly, High Point is still looking for their first win of the season after 18 matchups. They fell 62-54 to Northwestern on Tuesday. High Point has struggled against Northwestern recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ibrahim Turay, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadan Solomonraj, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
DuVal has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for High Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-18.
Everything came up roses for DuVal against High Point in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 82-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for DuVal since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
