Football Recap: Plainville Skates Past Avon with Ease

While Plainville put up plenty of points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Avon. The Blue Devils blew past the Falcons 44-0. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Plainville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joel Hernandez out in front who rushed for 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 carries. Those 123 rushing yards gave Hernandez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Abarno, who threw for 166 yards and three TDs while completing 72% of his passes.

The victory (which was Plainville's third in a row) raised their record to 5-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.3 points on average over those games. As for Avon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
